About The Saint Nicholas School English Programme - Oxford International Curriculum
Background
The English Program (EP) was initially introduced to Saint Nicholas School by Fr. John Baptist Prajuabchok Trisopa and Sr. Maliwan Kuchart who realized the important role of English language in education. Soon after the program was officially approved, classes from Kindergarten 3 to Primary 1 formally started in May 2002.
In 2007, Fr. Prasert Sitti and Sr. Chawiwan Chaodi requested to open the secondary level of the English Programme and was approved to operate in the same year. Through the years, EP has received various awards and recognition for academic excellence, discipline, and leadership. Consequently, with the approval of the Bishop and the school board committee, Fr. Prasert Sitti has built “Sancta Maria” Building for the English Programme to further enhance and strengthen learning. The building was inaugurated on the feast of Our Lady of the Assumption on August 15, 2015. Since then, August 15 has been designated as the department’s feast day for the English Program.
In 2020, Fr. Sirichan Iangphasuk and Fr. Paisan Rachakit took over the administration of the Saint Nicholas School. The Language Arts and Digital Business (LADB) strand was gradually made available to Grades 10 in the year 2020 on a ladderized basis, through the recommendation of Fr. Ronnie L. Torres, OMI, Ph.D., and Asst. Professor Amnuay Pathumpi. Four of the available subjects—E-Commerce, Basic Programming, Web Design, and Internet of Things—are taught by professors from Chiang Mai University’s College of Arts, Media and Technology, which considerably aided in the expansion of the strand. From that point on, additional MOUs/MOAs were signed to create connections with both domestic and foreign universities in order to advance the LADB strand’s implementation.
SNS-EP has resolved to shift from the current program to the Oxford International Curriculum starting in 2023 in order to accomplish its aim of being the hallmark of world-class education.
ปี พ.ศ. 2545 คุณพ่อประจวบโชค ตรีโสภา และ ซิสเตอร์มะลิวัลย์ กู้ชาติ ได้ดำเนินการขออนุมัติเปิด โครงการจัดการเรียนการสอนโดยใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นสื่อ (English Programme) จากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ และในเดือนพฤษภาคมปีเดียวกัน โรงเรียนเซนต์นิโกลาสได้รับการอนุมัติให้เปิดโครงการนี้อย่างเป็นทางการ โดยเปิดการเรียนการชั้นตั้งแต่ระดับชั้นอนุบาล 2 ถึงชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับจากผู้ปกครองในจังหวัดพิษณุโลกและจังหวัดใกล้เคียงเป็นอย่างดียิ่ง
ปี พ.ศ. 2550 คุณพ่อประเสริฐ สิทธิ และซิสเตอร์ฉวีวรรณ เชาวน์ดี ได้ขออนุมัติเปิด English Programme ระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น และได้รับอนุมัติให้ดำเนินการในปีการศึกษา 2550 หลายปีผ่านไป EP ได้รับรางวัลมากมายและเป็นที่ยอมรับในด้านวิชาการ ความมีวินัย และความเป็นผู้นำ และในปี พ.ศ. 2557 โดยความเห็นชอบของพระสังฆราชและคณะกรรมการบริหารโรงเรียน คุณพ่อประเสริฐ สิทธิ ได้สร้างอาคารเรียน “ซานตามาเรีย” สำหรับการเรียนการสอนของแผนก English Programme และเปิดใช้งานอย่างเป็นทางการในวันที่ 15 สิงหาคม 2558 ซึ่งตรงกับวันฉลองพระแม่มารีย์ได้รับเกียรติยกขึ้นสวรรค์ทั้งกายและวิญญาณ และตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา วันที่ 15 เดือนสิงหาคมของทุกปี จึงนับเป็นวันฉลองครบรอบการเปิดการเรียนการสอนของแผนก EP

ปี พ.ศ. 2563 คุณพ่อศิริชาญ เอียงผาสุข และคุณพ่อไพศาล ราชกิจ ได้รับแต่งตั้งให้บริหารโรงเรียนเซนต์นิโกลาส และได้มอบหมายให้ Fr. Ronnie L. Torres, OMI, Ph.D. และผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์อำนวย ปทุมปี ดำเนินการขออนุมัติเปิดการเรียนการสอนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย แผนการเรียนภาษาและธุรกิจดิจิทัล (Language Arts and Digital Business-LADB) และได้รับการอนุมัติให้เปิดดำเนินการในปีการศึกษา 2564 ในการนี้ ทางแผนกฯ ได้รับความอนุเคราะห์จาก วิทยาลัยศิลปะสื่อและเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ จัดอาจารย์ช่วยสอน 4 รายวิชา คือ E-Commerce, Basic Programming, Web Designing, และ Internet of Things นอกจากนี้ ได้มีการลงนามความร่วมมือและข้อตกลงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการพัฒนาบุคลากร กับมหาวิทยาลัยทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ เพื่อพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนในทุกระดับ เป็นต้น แผนการเรียน LADB
โรงเรียนเซนต์นิโกลาส แผนก English Programme ได้รับความเห็นชอบและอนุมัติให้เปลี่ยนหลักสูตรที่ใช้ในปัจจุบันเป็นหลักสูตร Oxford International Curriculum ในปีการศึกษา 2566 เป็นต้นไป เพื่อเป็นการยกระดับการศึกษาสู่ระดับสากล
ปีชาติ ได้ดำเนินการขออนุมัติเปิด โครงการจัดการเรียนการสอนโดยใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นสื่อ (English Programme) จากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ และในเดือนพฤษภาคมปีเดียวกัน โรงเรียนเซนต์นิโกลาสได้รับการอนุมัติให้เปิดโครงการนี้อย่างเป็นทางการ โดยเปิดการเรียนการชั้นตั้งแต่ระดับชั้นอนุบาล 2 ถึงชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับจากผู้ปกครองในจังหวัดพิษณุโลกและจังหวัดใกล้เคียงเป็นอย่างดียิ่ง

Saint Nicholas School-English Programme – O.I.C. is a catholic school envisioned to be the hallmark of world-class education vis-à-vis moral values, academic excellence, well-being, and global skills.
MISSION
Within three years, SNSEP-OIC will produce highly competent graduates imbued with desirable Thai values and morals, 21st century skills, social responsibility and integrity, and to assume an active leadership role in the academic community and the society through an advanced and relevant program of studies that can respond to the demands of the contemporary world.
GOALS
A
The SNSEP-OIC will provide a strong foundation for post-secondary education that will facilitate continuous study in the English, Thai and Chinese languages.

Using the “best practices” approach, the SNSEP-OIC will strive to instill a cross-cultural emphasis that transcends one’s culture and nationality.
E
SNSEP-OIC will provide extra-curricular activities in a variety of areas in order to develop well-rounded global citizens.

The SNSEP-OIC will provide appropriate instruction based on the combined OXFORD International Curriculum and the Thai national curriculum to students from kindergarten to Grade 9; and the pre-university curriculum for the LADB strand.

SNSEP-OIC will strive to be accredited by the ASC-WASC (Accrediting Commission for Schools-Western Association of Schools and Colleges) to guarantee quality and world-class education.
F
With the exception of foreign-language courses and the Thai language, the medium of instruction will be in English.
